The authority was mandated to reduce food loss and waste across the national value chain but lacked a clear, evidence-led view of where losses occur and how to act. It needed a strategy grounded in local dynamics and aligned to international best practice.

Embedded with the authority, the food system was mapped end to end, the real drivers of loss isolated, and the evidence turned into a national strategy with the governance to deliver it.
- Benchmarked leading national strategies and FAO and UNEP guidance against the local context
- Ran a current-state assessment with value-chain mapping, hotspot identification and stakeholder interviews
- Engaged ecosystem stakeholders to validate root causes and behavioural, systemic and regulatory barriers
- Built the strategy and its operating and governance architecture with roles, delivery mechanisms and KPIs

A national food loss and waste reduction strategy, with a clear purpose, goals, pillars and linked initiatives, plus the governance and delivery architecture to take it forward. The authority kept a structured, evidence-led plan and the operating model to lead implementation across the value chain.
